1st Quarter 2014 - It's a Wrap!

The student artists of High Point sure have gotten some amazing work accomplished over past two months. Just look at what they've been up to!
The Fine Art Portfolio students kicked off the year with a still-life, and then moved on to value studies in charcoal:

Alec, Victoria, and Nicole draw from direct observation.
The Fine Art Sculpture students started out the year creating bookends by abstracting both organic and human made forms in clay.
The Sculpture students then studied Environmental Art and Land Art. Here, Corrin works on a creation inspired by artist Andy Goldsworthy.
Autumn is the most lovely time of year for creating Land Art.
The Sculpture students are currently working on direct carving from plaster blocks after researching the life and work of artist Henry Moore.
The Portfolio students spent over three weeks practicing life drawing from live models.

The Portfolio 3's have been hamming it up for the camera in preparation for their self portraits in ink.

The Crafts 2 students created woven baskets in clay. This one is by Brit S.
Sarah E. works on a painting inspired by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.'s short story "Harrison Bergeron'.
